What is the HBA/CIS Summer Legal Internship?
The Summer Legal Internship Program provides an opportunity for CIS high school students to participate in an eight week program with Houston area law firms. Last year 48 students were placed in the program and more than 20 law firms, governmental agencies, and non-profit legal organizations participated. Selected students are required to attend a Job Readiness prior to beginning their internship. Throughout the program students are engaged in the following activities:
- Weekly lunch groups about the law
- Opportunity to visit a federal court judges courtroom
- Participate in a mock trial
- End of summer reception
